This smoothie packs a punch! With all the nutrient dense ingredients it really will provide you with plenty of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. The matcha green tea powder in this smoothie contains an incredible amount of antioxidants, 20 times more than pomegranates or blueberries. It also contains a potent class of antioxidant known as catechins which are thought to provide anti-cancer fighting properties and also counteract the free radicals coming from pollution, UV rays and other chemicals that lead to cell and DNA damage. It is the chlorophyll in matcha that gives it its green colour. Chlorophyll is a powerful detoxifier, helping to eliminate chemicals and heavy metals from the body. Every day we come in contact with chemicals and this is often beyond our control so we should do what we can to try and counteract this. A daily dose of matcha will certainly help! Check out my blog Juices or Smoothies where I talk about the benefits and differences between them.
